6 B’s to Show Our Love For Bey
Is it me or did everyone wake up extra excited today about the release of Beyonce’s new album? All the Beyonce haters can have several seats because today is Bey day and you didn’t even know it (Like Rocko said, UEONO)! Plus, it’s one of my good friends/sisters birthday, Brittany, so it’s always a “B” day this month.
It was 12:30 am this morning and my phone started ringing. On the other line I heard: “Bey dropped her new album!!” When it comes to our Bey, Robin, Brittany and I refuse to allow any obstacle to come in the way of seeing her when she’s on tour. So, it wasn’t unusual that Robin was calling me so early with the news. In all honesty, I don’t know how I missed it on Instagram! I was halfway mad at myself. Yet and still, I was so glad she called me!
But if you didn’t know, now you know why Beyonce is Beyonce and why we love her so much. Even the news anchors couldn’t deny her beauty and our fascination for her this morning.
So, for all my fellow Beyhive fans, and even for the haters who need a few reasons to love her, let me give you just a few. This is why we love Beyonce:
BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL
What magazine cover hasn’t Bey been on? It’s one thing to see her in print or on television but it’s another to see her in person. That’s when you really truly see just how beautiful she is. Whether her face is completely “beat” (flawless make-up) or in her natural state, she exudes beauty from the inside out. Now that she’s a beautiful mother,
BOLD
You can’t be a true DIVA without being bold, taking risks and doing things that others have never done before. She’s not afraid to go where no one else has gone and she recently showed us just how bold she is when she went bungee jumping in New Zealand! She inspires us to take risks and chase our dreams no matter what, but she also reminds us that it takes hard work and dedication.
BLUE IVY
Beyonce not only shows us what it means to be a girl who runs the world, but she also shows us the importance of being a loving wife and loving mother. Beyonce was so beautiful even when she was carrying Blue Ivy and it’s evident what’s important to her. Whether it’s in the boardroom, the baby room or even the bedroom, Bey obviously knows how to hold it down and take care of business and her family.
BLESSES OTHERS
Beyonce is serious about philanthropy and always gives back whether financially, physically and/or through her time. She probably doesn’t even know how many of us she’s inspired and blessed through her songs, her drive and determination. It’s nothing for us to recall a certain song from one of her albums that truly helped us through a difficult break-up, situation or even made us look within ourselves and inspired us to do more. God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others and Beyonce is living proof of that.
BOOTYLICIOUS
At one time, Beyonce regretted having made Bootylicious but I think it was yet another great way for her to connect with so many of us. Yes, she shows us how important it is to be healthy and stay in shape, but with Bootylicious she also helped us embrace our curves in a world that only likes to embrace those who weigh 100 lbs or less. Besides, who else can get a word added to the dictionary so fast?
BEST AT WHAT SHE DOES
We all have to acknowledge that Beyonce has all of the true living and past legends to thank for paving the way for her. But today, for our generation, there is no one like her! Who else can release an album with no hype or traditional promo campaign and still receive the massive response and number of downloads she’s received? No one can touch her when it comes to singing. No one can touch her when it comes to her concerts and live performances. No one can go up and down the chromatic scale like she can. No one can deliver a girl anthem, a party song, love ballad and even inspirational song all on one album like she can. No one can produce a tour and tour for as long as she can like she can. And no one, and I mean no one, can rock it on stage like she can in 6 inch heels…
…And that’s why she’s “Queen B!”
